The last week

Here's a bit of what we've been up to the last week...
Enjoying the heat by spending lots of time in water

Brother time

Checking out the playmat - though obviously Carter was much more intrigued by it than Landon

Napping

Getting into trouble...After Carter colored all over the walls upstairs with crayons while I was in the shower, letting him color all over my legs while I was feeding Landon seemed like a decent option.  I'd rather wash off my legs than scrub the walls - however, I did have some blue marks for a couple days.  Apparently if you leave washable marker on your skin all day it doesn't come off so easily...crayons and markers have since been put up and are now only going to be brought out during supervised times.

Getting a first bath!

Meeting cousin Ashton

and Uncle Joe

more napping

Enjoying the second bath better than the first

Being a wild and crazy 2 year old boy!

and celebrating the 4th of July!
Landon had a check up on Thursday and at 11 days was already 8 lbs. 14 oz.  I thought this was impressive and that he was way bigger than Carter until I looked in Carter's baby book and saw that Carter was already 9 lbs. 6 oz. when he was 2 1/2 weeks old.  So although Carter was a pound smaller than Landon at birth he definitely got his weight up with no problem!  So I'm guessing they are about the same size.  I'll be curious to see how they compare at 2 months.  Landon is still doing really well, though he is getting to be a little more needy than he was that first week.  He actually is crying sometimes - but still mostly just grunts and smacks his lips.  He's eating pretty frequently during the day but is only getting up 2-3 times during the night.  Usually we put him down around 9:30 or 10 and he sleeps until about 1:30 then is up again around 4:30 and that's all.  I'll take the constant feedings during the day if it helps him sleep that much at night though!  He's still very laid back, takes bottles like a champ (which is so nice for me - Carter struggled with bottles for months and months...) and is pretty easy going.  He was not so sure about his first bath and after about 5 minutes he was done with it.  He has been enjoying the subsequent baths more and more though.  His first 4th of July consisted of a couple BBQ's.  We went up to Sean and Tracey's and then ventured further north to Fort Collins to Tate's house.  Other than projectile vomiting all over Sean and Tracey's couch and Courtney he did really well with being gone all day long and being transported from place to place.  Carter had a lot of fun at both BBQ's and was quick buddies with Sean and Tracey's 8 week old golden retriever puppy, Dante.  Sadly the only picture I took yesterday was one with Landon on my phone but Carter and the puppy were adorable together.  Carter's still doing really good with his brother, though we're having to work with him on being gentle with him.  He's not the easiest rocker and thinks he can just pick Landon up which is not the case.  He's learning to be easier with him though and hopefully that'll continue.  Carter's also becoming a handful with wanting to be naked, or nakie as he likes to say.  I found him the other night naked in his room after Dane had put him to bed clothed.  Dane was actually downstairs with him this morning and fell asleep on the couch and was awakened by Carter, diaperless with a big puddle of pee in the hall.  So we'll have to see what we can do about that - keeps things interesting around here though!
