I am bursting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am bursting with excitement right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We got some great, great, great news this morning! 

DANE GOT A FIRE FIGHTING JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 5 years of testing and training and trying and trying and trying, all his hard work and perseverance has finally paid off.  We could not be more proud of him and are so happy and excited for him.  I am so full of emotions and joy for him.  It has been quite a process and such a roller coaster.  I would have never believed anyone if they'd previously told me how hard it is to get a fire fighting job and what the odds are.  I think the last time Dane took the Denver test there were 2,500 guys (which I think they ended up reaching their max #) for about 25 spots or so.  That gives you a 1% chance  - we might as well have played the lottery!  But finally it has happened for him.  And not only did he get a fire fighting job but he got an officer position so he'll now officially be Lieutenant Dane Huffman.  Has a nice ring to it :)  He won't be starting until early 2013, but he thinks that will actually be better for him to figure out some stuff with his current job. The boys will be so excited to know that they can continue to go to the fire house and visit dad and climb around on the engine :)
