The last few years we've tried to always make it out to the stock show. It's always a fun time and the kids love seeing all the animals. Landon got up close and personal with the cows in the stockyard.
I'm pretty sure he would have licked this one's nose if we'd let him. You can see his tongue out as he's trying to lean in.
They always like actually getting to pet the animals in the petting zoo.
Landon was pretty tired during the rodeo but that made our lives a lot easier. He sat there for about an hour and a half which never would have happened if he'd been energetic like usual.
Carter's favorite was the steer wrestling. He was cheering and clapping and very excited about it. This was during the bronco riding which apparently didn't impress him as much but I love Leanne's reaction in the background.
Carter was all gung-ho to ride a pony. So we decided we'd wait in the half hour line so he could do it. Right as it was about our turn he told us he didn't want to go anymore. Dane and I both agree in not forcing our kids to do things they don't want to do but after waiting that long trying to entertain both kids, he was riding that pony. Luckily he ended up enjoying it - he told us though that he needed a big horse to ride next time. Apparently ponies are a little too slow for him.
Landon passed out after waiting in line so he and Leanne found a spot to sit and wait.
Carter also got a rope so he was excited to pretend to be a cowboy and was showing me how to swing it here. He then went home and was wrangling his "cows" aka Chesni and Sparky.

Leanne's reaction is hilarious. And I love that Carter tried to wrangle Chesni and Sparky :)
