Well I had big blogging plans a couple Fridays ago - I got a ton of pictures loaded and started writing a post for Carter with plans to get a lot up during afternoon nap time. Then my water broke...but more on that later! So finally a month and a half after Carter's birthday here's a little bit about my goofy, fun-loving 4 year old!
Oh Carter how can you possibly already be 4??? Three was definitely your most challenging year as you were testing your limits and pushing us as much as you could. As you've approached 4 we started to get it worked out and things are back to normal - at least most of the time. You are still such a boy's boy. You are rowdy, always on the move, love to be physical and are a huge daddy's boy. You do however love to snuggle and love your family with all your heart. You always want everyone to be together and just the other day you suggested we build a huge bed in our room so we could all sleep together as a family. You're an early bird and usually up around 6-6:30 and come into our room to tell us "the sun is up, it's time to play!" You still love documentary/non-fiction movies and books and it's always interesting what you pick out at the library. I never thought I'd know so much about aircraft carriers, jets, reptiles or dinosaurs. You love to learn. You've also fully embraced the standard 4 year old question of why. You ask why to EVERYTHING. While sometimes it can be a bit much like when we're reading a story and you ask why after every sentence; I love your curiosity and eagerness to learn about things. You have the greatest imagination and are so entertaining. You are constantly being a fire fighter and protecting the citizens as you say. You are also always on the hunt for all sorts of animals. I had no idea that dingoes, wolves and boa constrictors were in our backyard but you see them all the time. Or smell them - you like to tell me you're picking up the scent of all sorts of stuff. You also have an imaginary friend named Jackson that you are constantly talking about. You don't necessarily play with him like he's here but you always talk about him and the stuff you've done. You've also named one of the horses that graze in the meadow nearby Jackson and tell us he's your horse. Anyone that spends any amount of time with you quickly learns about your imagination and the wonderful stories you come up with. You also say the most hilarious things and are constantly cracking us up. For the most part you're a really good older brother though you do like to push Landon's buttons too. You're getting to be better and better with him though and I think you really like that he's getting to an age where he likes to play with you. You guys love a good game of chase or to wrestle. You just really love to play with other kids and are very social - just still a little shy around adults but that's definitely gotten a lot better. You are so spunky, fun, rambunctious, inquisitive, and all boy. I can't wait to see what year number 4 brings!!!
Brand new guy
One
Two
Three
and now Four!
We started Carter's morning with a birthday donut before Dane had to go to work
and then did presents and cake that evening.
Carter was mostly excited that the neighbors accepted our invitation to come join us. He's always happy when his favorite person, Logan, is there.
Chocolate cake, a bunch of Rescue Bots for his presents and Logan all in one night - he was one happy 4 year old!
