Little Explorer

Carter's favorite sleeping position. He's been sleeping like this for months now but it cracks me up every time I go check on him and see his butt high in the air. He's also enjoying getting to have a little teddy bear in bed with him. It's really cute when you go to get him in the morning and he's just sitting there playing with it. It's also nice that I think it buys us another 15 minutes of sleep. He started sleeping through the night consistently around 5 months and has really been a great sleeper until the last month or so...he had a cold and was then teething so we were getting up with him and have now struggled to get him to sleep again. It's slowly getting better but a lot of work. I don't know how I used to get up every 2 hours to feed him! He also just had his first overnight without me or Dane this past weekend and stayed at my parents house. Of course the little stinker slept from 7:30-6:30 there! One day we'll sleep again :) (Probably when our kids are all over the age of 8!) The view I see when I peek in his room while he's napping
Carter has started exploring EVERYTHING and has gotten so quick. You can't take your eyes off of him for a minute or he'll find something new to get into. Helping me unload the dishwasher has become a recent favorite.
He was trying to climb up onto the dishwasher the other day - luckily he didn't make it. I'm sure he will soon though.
Ooh, the dog door! Hopefully he doesn't try to crawl out it anytime soon. He also discovered the stairs the other day and crawled up them no problem. I hadn't pointed them out to him (hoping he just wouldn't want to climb them) and he usually got distracted by the dog bowls before he ever made it to the stairs though...but he found them.

This last weekend Dane was involved in a fundraiser for a girl named Jessie. She's a high school senior in Littleton who sadly lost both her parents to cancer in the last year. Her dad was a firefighter in Littleton so the guys do a lot of fundraisers to help her out. Dane heard about this one so we all headed to it not knowing exactly what the fundraiser was other then that it involved a crossfit workout. Leave it to firefighters to involve drinking with their workout. It was a century club workout - take a shot of beer then do 1 pull up every minute for 100 minutes. Here's the table with the shots.
Dane doing a pull up (Carter and I just watched)
Dane trying to get Carter to grab onto the bench press bar - he wasn't interested. An interesting and funny fundraiser but for a great cause - I'm glad we were able to help out, even if it was just a small amount.
Nap time
The pictures of these 2 sleeping together never gets old to me!

Katie used to sleep the same way, with her butt in the air. Levi actually likes his back so no funny poses yet:) You are going to have a toddler soon!
