Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. The weather was really nice and we took full advantage and spent lots of time outdoors. While that meant a good amount of house/yard work, we also took some time to BBQ and play.

On Friday night me, Leanne and Carter went over to Nikkie and Andy's for a BBQ (Dane was running shift).
Making some beer butt chicken
Carter enjoying a tortilla chip in the grass
On Saturday we spent the day outside doing yard work, went to the dog park at Cherry Creek and then had the Seymours over to BBQ.  Here's Carter with his special lady friend Josey - they were both too busy chewing to smile :)
All the kids climbing/playing/chewing
Pretty sure Carter thinks Tommy is the coolest kid ever and that he's a genius!
Carter was following around Elley aka Snowflake the puppy all night
On Monday a group of us ran the Bolder Boulder.  It was me, Dane, Leanne, Tracey, Sean, Meagan and Dawn.  While I was slightly worried I would possibly die since I haven't really run since before I was pregnant and Carter is now almost one...I actually did much better than I expected.  Maybe next year I'll enter into the competitive race :)
Hanging out after the race.  My mom came up with us and watched Carter while we ran.  He enjoyed watching all the people that were there.  There were 53,000 runners this year plus all the spectators, so plenty to look at!
When we got back home we took advantage of the heat and got out the splish splash mat.  While Carter loved trying to grab the water, it uses hose water which isn't exactly warm.  Poor kid was wanting to keep playing so badly, but his teeth started to chatter because he was cold.  So I wrapped him up and tried to keep him in the grass so he could play.
