Name Negotiations

The conversations Dane and I have had about the name for baby #2 have been pretty funny.  They are much more of a negotiation than anything else.  We typically like the same names but there's a couple that we don't agree on.  I think we've pretty much got the name picked - but I'm sure we won't decide until the little guy is actually here.  We went in with Carter having 3 names on our list and then decided once we met him.  Our conversation the other day went along the lines of this:

Me: "How about Grant?"
Dane: "No, then it's like we're naming our kids after presidents."
Me: "Tanner?"
Dane: "No I knew a kid in high school named that and I hated him.  What about Keegan?"
Me: "No I coached a kid in gymnastics with that name and he was really obnoxious." (I have come around to Keegan a little more though - but I like our other 2 top choices way better).
Me: "Are you still vetoing Rylan?" (This is my FAVORITE, but it's one of Kristen's friends names so Dane wants to be more creative).
Dane: "Yes, still vetoed."
Me: "How about if I give you 3 boys I get to name him Rylan and you can pick the middle name you want for this one?"
Dane: "Deal."

So we went on like this about first names, middle names, etc.  Dane still likes the idea of the middle name Dane-jur but I just don't think I can do that to a child.  Funny enough though I think Carter will be a kid who would grow up and find that to be hilarious.  You never know though. We've still got plenty of time and really I'm guessing we both already know what it's going to be :)
