Carter has always been fascinated by the dog door, but now he likes to drop his toys outside through it. Dane and I have both caught him hanging half way through it too - I'm just hoping he doesn't go crashing through it!
Dane had a hockey tournament this weekend - it's put on annually by Littleton FD. He played last year too, but realized ice hockey is very different then roller hockey - his biggest problem was he didn't know how to stop on skates. So...he decided to take some hockey classes. That's right, my nearly 30 year old husband has been leaving his wife and child at home alone so he could take hockey classes - too bad he didn't get to play when he was a kid to get it out of his system :) But this year Leanne and I were both impressed with his "new tricks." He did learn how to stop and was way better this year. I think he had more fun too!
Carter loves watching the fast pace of sports. He also made a new friend. He was walking around the bleachers and there was an 18 month old little girl who was very fascinated by him. We discovered he's already a lady killer and the little girl was chasing him around trying to give him kisses.
Proud of his hockey playing daddy!
The weather was so nice on Saturday we took advantage and had some time in the whale pool. It was a little windy but Carter is such a water baby he didn't seem to mind at all.
We also went this weekend and bought a couple of "big boy" car seats. While Carter's not quite a year, he will be in a few weeks and he had definitely outgrown his infant carseat. His poor little legs were starting to hang over and I'd almost guarantee he weighs more then 22 lbs. So we moved up and then had to take a test ride. It was near bedtime so blankie also had to come along. When we first started driving he just sat there laughing - apparently it was really fun for him! And yes I'm a dork and brought my camera in the car - gotta capture all these firsts!
Loving looking out the window as we drove.
And while he tried his hardest to fight it - the car just still makes him sleepy :)
Along with transitioning to the big carseat Carter also said Mama yesterday. He's been babbling mamamama for a while now, but didn't really seem to do it with any purpose or recognition. Yesterday he walked right over to me, climbed up my legs and said Mama though. He did it a couple other times too, so it made me more sure that he was actually calling me mama. Melted my heart! Dane said he was just babbling though and I don't think he'll recognize any word Carter says unless it Dada or Dane :)
