Everything's a fun new toy!

I have found a good way to distract Carter while I'm trying to cook - let him help me cook.  I was making pancakes last Saturday morning and he was helping out.
Got to stir everything up real good
I feel like he looks like such a little boy in this picture - he's not my little baby anymore :(  Lately he seems to just be growing like a weed and developing so much every day.  He's so coordinated and smart that he constantly surprises Dane and I.  He's starting to talk up a storm but dog and ruff ruff seem to be the words that get him excited right now.  Dada and dad are also favorites.  If he sees or hears a dog he shouts "DOG!" and then ruff ruff.  He just loves dogs!
Look - the bowl also works as a hat!
Last Thursday Kristen got back from a trip to Alaska.  She hung out here for the day and my parents came up for dinner.  She caught this huge halibut and also some salmon while she was there and she brought it back with her.  We were fortunate enough to get to sample some of her delicious salmon.  We all loved it - except Carter - apparently he is not quite a salmon fan so he just stuck to his turkey slices.
After dinner we all went outside to play fetch with Chesni and enjoy the nice weather.  I was watering the plants which always excites Carter.  Usually we'll let him splash his hands in the hose but it was so warm out I decided to just let him play with the hose.  I was surprised by how soaked he got.  He was getting drinks, squirting himself and just holding the hose over his head.  He's just happy when there's water involved.

After a while he little teeth started to chatter so I decided that was probably enough cold hose water.  He seemed happy to have his wet clothes off and to get some nice snuggles with Auntie.
Apparently then it was time to take Niley on a walk.
Off to explore the neighborhood!
